John William Godward (1861-1922)
John William Godward was one of the main followers of Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema. Godward devoted his entire life to painting young girls dressed in Greek or Roman evocative cloth, almost always posing on marble terraces. He can be considered one of the last interpreters of Victorian Neoclassicism.
