Polychrome bas-relief inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt, “Danaë”.
Klimt was inspired by Greek mythology for this work. Danaë is the daughter of Eurydice and Acrisius, the king of Argos, who was warned by the oracle that the birth of his granddaughter would cause his death, so he locks his daughter in a tower as a preventive measure. However, Zeus becomes infatuated with her and transforms into a shower of gold to break through the tower walls and take her sexually. The work represents Danaë curled up in herself, dreaming of the golden rain.
