Klimt shows us women as sexual objects, even when he depicts lesbian scenes such as this one. “It is men’s fantasies, not women’s, that are aroused by these displays. Men hardly appear in Klimt’s work, and when they do, they are threatened from all sides, dominated by the woman, the true protagonist of his images. The original painting is in the Österreichische Galerie in Vienna.
