Hermes is the son of Zeus and the nymph Maia, he is the messenger and herald of the gods, who guides the guests into the Olympus, who accompanies the heroes on their adventures and who communicates to the mortals the divine messages. Consequently, he is also the patron god of the travelers, as well as of the merchants, the thieves and swindlers. But Hermes is especially the conductor of the souls. As such, he leads the people from life to death.
