Lucius Annaeus Seneca, also called Seneca the Younger, was a Roman philosopher, politician, orator and writer, known for his works of moralistic character. Son of Marcus Annaeus Seneca, he was Quaestor, Praetor and Senator of the Roman Empire during the administrations of Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius and Nero, also he was minister, tutor and adviser of the emperor Nero.
