Deer in bronze of the Tartessian culture. Tartessos or Tarteside was the name by which the Greeks knew the first civilization of the West. Heiress of the megalithic culture of the Iberian South-West, was supposedly in the triangle formed by the provinces of Huelva, Seville and Cadiz, on the southwest coast of the Iberian peninsula. Had axle Tartessos River, which the Romans called Betis then and Arabs Guadalquivir, which means Great River.
