Epona was originally a goddess of the Celtic religion, she was worshiped after the conquest by the Romans in late antiquity in the Gallic region. The Danube peoples, also the British, North Africans and even Greeks worshiped the goddess Epona.
The goddess Epona was worshiped primarily by people whose lives depended on horses.
