Faun of Pompeii, reproduction made in cast bronze. Bronze cast in sand mould. Finished with antique patina. Handmade in Spain.

Height figure + base: 30 cm.

Height figure without base: 21 cm.

Measurements of the base: Height: 9,5 cm. Sides: 6 cm.

Approx. weight: 1,20 kg.

Reproduction of a bronze figure of a dancing faun. The original, dating from the 2nd century BC, was found in Pompeii, in the House of the Faun, to which it gave its name. The original statuette is in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples, believed to be a Roman copy of a Hellenistic work. Fauns were divinities of nature and were associated with fertility and fecundity.
