Reproduction of a Cycladic statuette. Small anthropomorphic sculptures from the Cyclades Islands (Greece), dated between 2500 and 2000 B.C., made of marble. They are mostly female figures and are thought to represent fertility goddesses. They were mostly found in tombs, so it is thought that they served as amulets and protectors of the deceased or for psychopompic purposes, as companions of the souls in the afterlife.
