Relief of the Gods. Reproduction of a high-quality relief made in molded marble (marble powder bonded with resins). The aging finish is achieved with patinas based on natural earths that give it the texture and appearance of an ancient sculpture embellished by the passage of time.

Relief of the Gods. This relief recreates a fragment of the friezes of the Parthenon (British Museum in London) and represents three Olympian gods, Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis. The scene corresponds to the presentation of the peplos woven for Athena, an offering that was part of the Panathenaic festival, a procession of the summer festival in honor of Athena.

The Parthenon friezes are a series of bas-reliefs, sculpted in Pentelic marble by the school of Phidias in the 5th century BC (447 BC to 438 BC), with an approximate height of one meter and a total length of 160 meters, which surrounded the perimeter of the temple of Athena Parthenos on the Acropolis of Athens.

These pieces were located at the top of the Parthenon’s cella, and they represented the great Panathenaic procession, a festival in honor of the patron goddess of the city of Athens, the goddess Athena. The reliefs on the frieze depict the participants in the procession, led by maidens carrying embroidered peplos as offerings to the goddess, along with other characters such as aristocrats and magistrates, townspeople with their offerings, musicians, high-ranking military officers, soldiers, and knights on horseback.
