Statue inspired by The Thinker of Rodin.
French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840–1917) broke with the academic standards of his time and is considered the father of modern sculpture.
The Thinker, Rodin’s most famous work, was created between 1880 and 1881. It was originally intended to be part of the monumental sculptural group The Gates of Hell, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. It is currently housed in the Rodin Museum in Paris.
