It constitutes the model prototype of all the European Romanesque buildings during the period of maturity of the style. The construction was promoted by Bishop Diego de Peláez towards the year 1077 and was paralyzed in 1088. Later the Bishop of Dalmacio and with the auspices of Diego Gelmirez, continued the work until the cruise and seems to conclude it towards the 1122. The headboard is structured in a twist with radial chapels prolonged by the arms of the cruiser. On the naves appear the vaulted and illuminated grandstands through the intercolumniation by means of Vains and clerestories, to which we must add the development of the monumental sculpture constituting the portal historian. The Compostela project is the first in its chronological conception, accuses a superiority in the quality of its architecture and in the monumental approach of the covers.
