In Egypt, Sekhmet is the goddess of war. She represents the will and strength of the soul. She also symbolises destiny, understood as the application of the law of cause and effect, that is to say, she executes the divine designs on Earth. Sekhmet is one of the aspects taken on by the Mother goddess Hathor, in this case as implacable Justice.
