Cup decorated with centaurs fighting with soldiers. The centaurs were mythological beings half horse half man, they usually appear in the Greek myths as wild and lustful beings confronted to the heroes, representing the bestial nature in front of the civilization and the order. However, the most famous centaur, Chiron, stood out for his wisdom, being the tutor and teacher of numerous Greek heroes, such as Achilles, Jason and Theseus.
